Considerable success in developing medicines for AIDS: Swami Ramdev

Bhopal, India, Dec 1, 2006: Claiming to have achieved "considerable success" in developing medicines for AIDS, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev today said research in this direction might soon lead to "complete control" over the disease.

"Research on AIDS at the P Y Vidyapeeth will be completed soon, enabling complete control over the disease," Ramdev told reporters at the airport here."We have had considerable success in research on developing medicines for the disease," he claimed.Voicing concern at violence protests in Maharashtra against the alleged desecration of B R Ambedkar's statue in Kanpur, Ramdev said class conflicts are detrimental to the nation. There should be a way to prevent such incidents. While the Dalits should exercise restraint, the government should ensure that those responsible for desecrating the statue are arrested and punished, he said.On the recent controversy over his reported statements on Mahatma Gandhi, he said this was a case of misunderstanding that has been sorted out.
